What the petition asks
Girls should not have to go through this. And I am a bloke with a son. It's insane that we spend public money on HS2, Brexit... And girls in the UK are denied their most basic rights and dignity.
Give dignity back. It's tough enough with gender inequality.

Conservative MP Jason McCartney has since said he will raise the issue in Parliament. He wants to enlist other MPs to help start a campaign for free sanitary products for young girls in need.
Elsewhere, Labour MSP Monica Lennon is calling for sanitary products to be given out free in Scotland. She told Woman's Hour: "We are trying to establish a principle here, that this is a health issue.
"If you go to a food bank or homeless shelters, they know people who are having to go without."
