Protect the NHS by ensuring politicians are independent and unbiased

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

Make it the law that anybody involved in decisions relating to the NHS - including partaking in parliamentary votes - and their immediate family, must not hold any financial interest in private healthcare, directly or indirectly.
Direct financial interest includes (but is not limited to) owning shares in any private healthcare firm or company that supplies a private healthcare firm, being owed money by a private healthcare firm.
Indirect includes (but is not limited to) interests in investment funds that invest in private healthcare firms or firms that largely rely on private healthcare for trade.
Immediate family includes parents, grandparents, children, siblings, spouse and anybody who includes you in their will.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure whether you'd like this law to apply to anyone who makes decisions relating to the NHS, or only to politicians. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
