What the petition asks
George Osborne cannot act both as MP and Editor of the Evening Standard. There is a clear conflict of interest. This breaches the principal of journalistic neutrality. He will also have less time for his constituents.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
