Rejected

What the petition asks
Stop companies like Subway from offering apprenticeships for non-skilled jobs requiring little training in order to avoid paying the minimum wage.
Sometimes these apprenticeships last over a year as in the example below and allow the employer to pay their staff as little as £3.40 per hour!

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Government and Parliament can't change the law to apply to just one company in this way.
If you'd like apprentices to be paid the National Minimum Wage, you could sign this petition instead:
Ensure all apprentices are paid the National Minimum Wage for their age.
