Prevent the use of palm oil in products in the U.K.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

The wide spread of expansion of agricultural farming is posing as a huge threat to natural ecosystems and biodiversity on Earth. Palm oil is one of the world’s most widely used, grown and produced crops found on the current global market.
This type of vegetable oil is used and produced more than any other vegetable oil to exist and takes up the least amount of land required to produce (Carter et al., 2007). This ingredient is contained in most snack foods, cooking oils. It is cheap to buy, produce and created high yields. Companies that use this ingredient include: Clarins, Iceland, Oreo, Coca Cola, etc. Humans heavily rely on this ingredient for many purposes, and the demand is growing rapidly.
