What the petition asks
Our schools have a high number of fixed term exclusions SEN students are as shown in previous statistics at higher risk of being excluded. Fixed term exclusions are used as a sanction and serve no purpose for solution. I do not agree with the use of fixed term exclusion on children that need support
The recent article regarding schools facing cuts and loss of staff as a result emphasises the need for a new approach.
There are limited alternative provisions for children excluded from schools leaving children with SEN being placed in a setting unable to meet their needs.
One of these provisions has recently been highlighted as a concern and has also brought to light their staff crisis this issue has been raised with local mp a number of months ago Holly Lynch who is helping with this.
