Change the flaw in divorce law - We need a no fault divorce process.

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

To change the law from the current fault-based divorce procedure (where unreasonable behaviour or adultery often have to be cited) to a no-fault divorce system.

Separating couples should be able divorce with dignity in a non-confrontational way and the current requirement to separate for at least two years before being able to divorce, as required by the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, without apportioning blame, is incompatible with such an aspiration.
