Too many children and young people in the care system in the UK
are being subjected to having their possessions moved in bin liners and shopping carrier bags during transitions. This is likely to occur when moving foster placement, or when leaving the care system and entering independent living.

There are inconsistencies across the United Kingdom and across individual local authorities as to the provisions made available for children and young people in the care system. We would like to see the Government commit to this issue by commissioning research into its prevalence and devising policy and statutory guidance to address this.
