Make it a criminal offence for any UK media outlet to publish fake news.

What the petition asks

Fake news is a threat to the integrity of democracy, the use of fake news was very evident in US politics and similar tactics with news outlets here in the UK could be used to mislead the British public. Very undemocratic given that we live in a democratic state.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Make fake news reporting by the media a criminal offence.
