Make it an offence to park over or impede a driveway

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

If one pays the council to have dropped curb access to a driveway or garage the council should be responsible to ensuring that, that access remains unimpeded. I believe that parking over a drive in any way should be an offence punishable by receiving a parking ticket.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Under the Traffic Management Act 2004, local authorities already have the power to take action when a vehicle is parked alongside a dropped kerb. Action to regulate and enforce pavement parking or parking alongside dropped kerbs is strictly a matter for the relevant local authority.
