Theresa May must publicly debate her position leading up to the General Election

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

Theresa May stated the snap general election was called to ensure debate and discussion around Brexit and provide a greater mandate for her negotiations. However, she has since refused to take part in TV debates in the build up denying debate or discussion.

Sign if you agree Theresa May is a hypocrite and must participate in debate to inform the public of the Tory position.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This would be a decision for Theresa May to make as leader of the Conservative party, not as the Prime Minister. We can only accept petitions about the Prime Minister’s actions as part of the Government, not as the leader of a political party.
