What the petition asks
I train first aid courses as my job and when I tell people that there is no definitive law about defibrillators in the workplace all I get is "why not? they would save more lives".
Within the UK sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is one of the leading causes of premature death.

Electrical defibrillation is well established as an effective treatment for sudden cardiac arrest, and, if defibrillation is delivered within 3-5 minutes, survival rates can be as high as 50-70%.
The H&S (first aid) Regs 1981 states:
First aid provision must be ‘adequate and appropriate in the circumstances’.
This to some employers is just a first aider and a first aid kit and I feel this is not enough, so I want to do more into making sure someone has the best chance of survival in an emergency.
