What the petition asks
TalkPolitics is calling for an end to monopolies on media ownership. Over 50% of national UK papers sold, are controlled by two billionaires.
We're calling for stricter regulations, that limit the amount of national media that can be owned by one person/company to 20%.
We're calling for stricter regulations, that limit the amount of national media that can be owned by one person/company to 20%.
We want to;
- Make the Media Market truly free and competitive,
- Create a defence against abuse of market power,
- Ensure a free press rather than one controlled by media moguls,
- Protect against corporate greed in a market essential to democracy.
