No settlement payments to be made to the EU as part of any Brexit deal

What the petition asks
We are not legally required to pay them any 'divorce settlement' so stop wasting taxpayers money. They are trying to blackmail us into paying more money into their European superstate out of spite. We have already paid way too much to them over the years and if anything they owe us.
The EU has more to lose than we do if they don't want to trade with us post Brexit. Call their bluff walk away and there is a very good chance they will come back to us for a trade deal as it is in their best interests to do so not just ours. This money can be used for much better purposes such as the NHS.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure whether you want the UK Government to walk away from any deal that includes a settlement payment and try to stay in the EU or walk away from any deal that includes a settlement payment and leave with EU without a deal.
If you want the UK to leave the EU immediately without a deal, you could sign this petition: Leave the EU immediately
You could also start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
