What the petition asks
We, the undersigned, call upon HM Government and Dept of transport NOT to fund the Warrington Western Link route. The negative impacts to the people of Warrington are too severe to warrant the;
- cost
- disruption
- increase in traffic
- destruction of greenbelt land
- increased air pollution

The council states the benefits are;
- Reduction in North-South journey times;
Likelihood is that traffic will increase to circumvent toll roads.
- Delivery of several housing and employment sites;
Proposed 24,000 to be built on a flood plain which is green belt and has significant wildlife and recreational value.
- Reduction in traffic using town centre;
No conclusive evidence to support.
- Reductions in the air quality and noise impacts in town centre;
No conclusive evidence to support.
