Pay Up! Pay the Real Living Wage now.
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
At present, the national minimum wage is up to £7.50 an hour. This is the statutory amount employers must pay. However, this does not take into account the true cost of living. The Living Wage Foundation has calculated that the real living wage is £8.45 in the UK and £9.75 in London.
This is paid from the age of 18. It is time for the Government to pay up! Pay all employees the real living wage.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition calling on the Government to increase the current rate of the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage, if that's what you would like to happen.
