What the petition asks

The current prime minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom isn't the person to lead the Brexit team and ensure Britain and British taxpayers the best future.
The democratic vote must be respected and the British people must be served by our government leaders without further delay.
Brexit means Brexit and article 50 should be the negotiations and transition period to leave the EU in 2019.
It is vital that we commence trading with countries outside of the EU as soon as possible.

Why it was rejected

It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.

In any case, as you might already know, the Prime Minister of the UK is not chosen by the UK Government or Parliament.

After a general election, the Queen decides who to invite to form a Government. In practice, this is usually the leader of the political party that wins the most seats in a general election. You can find out more about this here:
