Petition · past parliament
Make MPs subject to standardised vetting rules inline with the security services
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Restrict access to secret, or top secret (such as Trident) information to those whom have passed the respectively required vetting as per any British defence, or intelligence service. It's a serious threat to national security from terrorism related intelligence through to military operations etc
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure whether you'd like all MPs to be vetted, or whether you would like them to be vetted only if they have access to secret or top secret information. We're also not sure exactly what kind of vetting you would like to be done. You can find out more about the different types of vetting here:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
