Petition · past parliament
MPs who break their oath of allegiance to the Monarch should resign.

What the petition asks
When an MP takes office, they pledge an oath of allegiance to the Monarch. MPs who break that tradition are betraying that oath and should resign with immediate effect.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The resignation of an MP would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
