What the petition asks
Support Kurdish independence from IRAQ.
It is abhorrent to all fair-minded people that the legitimate, democratic and peaceful aspirations of the Kurds for independence from the country of Iraq are being met with abuse, threats and bullying tactics
It is abhorrent to all fair-minded people that the legitimate, democratic and peaceful aspirations of the Kurds for independence from the country of Iraq are being met with abuse, threats and bullying tactics
by the governments of Iraq, Iran and Turkey.
It is both appropriate and imperative that the United Kingdom should:
1. Unequivocally support the Kurdish people in Iraq.
2. Oppose any and all threats, use of force, blockades, restrictions of movement and other attempts to intimidate the Kurds into submission to tyranny.
3. Provide every encouragement and assistance for the peaceful establishment of an independent, sovereign and free Kurdish state.
