Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

TO THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

We, the pub landlords are calling for

1. An immediate freeze on current business rates at the November budget 2017 to give the Government time to have an URGENT FUNDAMENTAL REVIEW of the whole system.
1. An immediate freeze on current business rates at the November budget to make time for an URGENT FUNDAMENTAL REVIEW of the whole system
2. Public Houses want a new formula on the way their rates are calculated. Must be fair to all pub models as the current system is unfit for purpose.
3. Special consideration for pubs and small businesses to encourage growth paid for by higher rates on larger businesses.
4. A cap on the % increase that can be made on Rateable Value Revaluations (every 5 years)

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure whether you want business rates to be frozen and reviewed for all businesses, or only for pubs.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
