What the petition asks
In 2012 the the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of offenders Act (LASPO) was passed. LASPO has had a profound impact on legal aid within the UK making it harder for people to gain legal representation, leading to an increase in litigants in person & arguably preventing access to a fair trial.
