Introduce a visa esta or esa system (like Canada/USA) for non-eu visitors to UK

What the petition asks

Currently, USA, Canada and Australia require foreign visitors (including British people) to complete a visa entry application prior to travel. Anybody with a historical criminal record must apply for a police certificate and await clearance from those countries, before being allowed entry.
Britons are being refused entry to Canada and Australia particularly, for historic criminal records - even childhood cautions and less serious records -such as drink driving twenty years ago. A similar system should exist in the UK to vet potential visitors from non-eu countries.
