Petition · past parliament

All sex offenders to remain on register for life, no exceptions for under 18's.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

I don't believe that just because an offender is under 18 they should be released from the list, this is why they reoffender's. All sex offender's should remain on the register for life..
There are some big names out there that you would be aware of, that had already offended but due to age been released from the register allowing them access and opportunity to reoffender. .
Please we have the power to stop this...

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

Anyone who is sentenced to 30 months or more in prison for a sexual offence remains on the register for life. This applies whatever the age of the offender.

People who are sentenced to shorter periods in prison remain on the register for a shorter time. There are different requirements depending on whether the offender is over 18.

You can find out more about this here (see page 7 in particular):

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
