Make environmental studies a mandatory subject in the National Curriculum
Closed
176 signatures
What the petition asks
There is currently a lack of knowledge about the detrimental impacts that human activity has on the environment. If a mandatory environmental studies subject is placed in the national curriculum, then this may encourage future generations to act in a more environmentally-friendly manner.
Topics could include – climate change, how much plastic is in the ocean, the impacts of litter on wildlife and the environment, how to live more sustainably/eco-friendly etc. Practicals could include litter picking, tree planting, and outdoor eco-volunteering sessions.
