Petition · past parliament

The Scottish Government should be called the Scottish Executive.

What the petition asks

The description of Scotland's devolved administration as a 'Government' causes confusion about its constitutional remit, which has led to considerable over-reach by devolved bodies into reserved matters. This duplication is contentious, costly, and detracts from the good governance of Scotland.
We petition Parliament to repeal section 12 of the Scotland Act 2012.
