What the petition asks
From July 2016, the MenC vaccine for 12 week old babies was discontinued from the NHS childhood vaccination programme.
In a letter to Public Health England in March 2016 The Joint Committee on Vaccination (JCVI) recommended that infants aged 12 weeks no longer require the vaccination against meningococcal serogroup C (MenC) due to the success of the immunisation programme that started in 1999.
One case is one too many and today there is a baby girl in Bradford fighting for her life after contracting MenC at the age of 10 months.
