What the petition asks
On 29/11/17 Donald trump tweeted his support for the right wing political group, "Britain First". This group have inspired individuals such as Thomas Mair, who was convicted of terrorism offences for the murder of Jo Cox MP; and are currently charged with "causing religiously aggravated harassment".
One role of the CPS is to continue "to work to combat those who seek to sow hatred and division by advancing extremist ideologies"(CPS website, 2017).
"Britain First" are an extremist group with a record of arrests and charges for "religiously aggravated harassment". By tweeting his support for this group, Donald Trump has 'advanced' their extremist ideologies. His actions thereby warrant investigation by CPS, and the rescinding of his state visit, under the Counter-Terrorism Act 2015.
