What the petition asks

Iodine deficiency is linked to miscarriage,stillbirth,mental impairment,increase of perinatal and infant mortality. It is the commonest worldwide cause of thyroid disorders. Low iodine can cause hypothyroidism,goitre and can affect fertility, pregnancy and neurodevelopmental disorders in new-borns.
Dr Vanderpump told the Society for Endocrinology 'Data suggests UK is iodine deficient’ A study involving 700 teenage girls at nine UK centres found two thirds had an iodine deficiency.
