Promote drug harm reduction information and services

Closed 36 signatures

What the petition asks

There were 3744 drug related deaths in the UK in 2016. The government currently provides no official harm reduction information or services. 35% of the UK's population have taken drugs in their lifetime. The government needs to promote harm reduction information and provide testing services.
This petition is to promote harm reduction in the UK in the following ways:
- Allow licenced premises to test drugs
- Make drugs reagent kits readily available
- Make pharmacies have reagents where drugs can be tested for free anonymously
- Promote information on how to use drugs safely
- Promote information on what to do in an emergency situation for a friend or family member
These services will cut drug deaths and save the NHS money. Statistics about deaths and usage are from drugwise.org
