What the petition asks
The public are being mislead on the terminology of what makes an electrician, often employing a Part P company over and approved electrician as they believe Part P is the same as Gas Safe.
Electrician training
3 or 4 Years ( and must have served as apprentice)
Exams;
level 2 - 6 units consisting of practical and theory exams
level 3 - 7 units consisting of practical and theory exams
NVQ 3 - At least 1 year served and assessed by competent electrician with evidence of all areas of electrical work
AM2 - 16.5 hour exam on practical skills and theory
Regulations - online exam
Part P Domestic Electrical Installer training
5 Days
Exams;
40min multiple choice Exam
3 or 4 Years ( and must have served as apprentice)
