What the petition asks
Nick Clegg is be to Knighted for services as Deputy Prime minister, A role he got by promissing the electorate in the 2010 GE he'd scrap student tuition fees. He then renagued on this promise. He has since lost his seat & now campaigns to block brexit the majority voted for by referendum.
Nick Clegg lost his seat at the last general election after his failure to deliver on his primary election manifesto promise. He now openly campaigns to derail the result of a democratic referendum.
Awarding a knighthood for services as Deputy Prime Minister devalues the honour for those who have actually earned it. To many people, honouring Nick Clegg will be seen as a reward for failure and opposing democracy.
