What the petition asks
Deforestation is happening at an unsustainable rate. Not only is it putting the survival of millions of species at risk but is also accelerating the effects of global warming. The best way to combat this is for every company trading in the UK to plant at least three trees for every one it cuts down.
"Many of the world’s most threatened and endangered animals live in forests, and 1.6 billion people rely on benefits forests offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter." "Some 46-58 thousand square miles of forest are lost each year—equivalent to 48 football fields every minute." https://www.worldwildlife.org/threats/deforestation#
