What the petition asks
Stop Shisha Smoking in the UK
Smoking Shisha can be 100 times more harmful than smoking cigarettes. It increases your risk of cancer, heart disease and respiratory disease.
Smoking Shisha can be 100 times more harmful than smoking cigarettes. It increases your risk of cancer, heart disease and respiratory disease.
A World Health Organization study has suggested that during one session on a hookah (around 20 to 80 minutes) a person can inhale the same amount of smoke as a cigarette smoker consuming 100 or more cigarettes. Hookah smoke also contains nicotine, cancer-causing chemicals and toxic gases such as carbon monoxide.Despite the wholesome-sounding flavours, shisha tobacco is just as dangerous and is linked to the same life-threatening diseases, such as heart disease and cancer.
