Petition · past parliament

England/Wales get 8 bank holidays, Scotland get 9 and Northern Ireland get 10?

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

Award ten bank holiday's to England/Wales & Scotland just the same as Northern Ireland receive.

Equality is very important! The government should promote equality!

Then, EVERYONE in the UK should all be awarded an extra two days to celebrate and embrace Brexit and Armistice day.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Bank holidays in Scotland are the responsibility of the Scottish Parliament, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You can find out more about bank holidays in the UK here: http://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN06170

You could start a new petition asking for the number of bank holidays in England and Wales to be increased to 10, if that's what you want to happen.
