What the petition asks
We would like to see the regulations tighter up in relation to the quality of build and finish of new homes. If a buyer is led to believe they will be getting a certin quality (the show home) the final product ie there home should be of similar or better quality.
Please can relationship of the NHBC and large house builder be looked at in more detail. They seem to sign off houses as “good quality” while many of them have serious defects.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not quite sure if you would like Parliament to tighten regulations or for there to be an investigation into the relationship between the NHBC and house builders.
You could start a new petition which makes it clear which action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
