What the petition asks

Introduce legislation giving local authorities comprehensive powers enabling them to force Housing Developers to complete new developments, with particular reference to road surfacing and completion of landscaping and adoption of shared open spaces, before they are able to start new projects.

This is a national problem affecting all areas, which local authorities clearly do not have the necessary powers to resolve.

Discussion with our own County Council leader reveals that they have very limited powers to force developers to complete sites enabling their adoption in a timely manner.
