What the petition asks
We the British Taxpayers want the Government to urgently launch a public inquiry into the awarding of all HS2 (High Speed Two Limited) contracts to Carillion plc despite grave concerns over their finances at the time the contracts were awarded.
Despite profit warnings the Government awarded Carillion plc contracts on HS2 (High Speed 2) for £1.4 BILLION of public money. Following compulsory liquidation today 15 January 2018 we require an urgent public inquiry into how this was allowed to happen placing the country's economy in danger, putting thousands of jobs at risk and damaging confidence in UK construction markets. It is vital any potential criminal activity is investigated and acted on. Accountability is required by the taxpayer.
