What the petition asks
People who are full time carers for loved ones can apply for carers allowance which the government recognise as working 35 hours per week caring for someone. Yet despite this carers get less money per week than people who are unemployed and are not eligible for any discounted travel.
People who are full time carers for loved ones can apply for carers allowance which the government recognise as working 35 hours per week caring for someone. Yet despite this carers allowance is set at £62.70 per week and are not eligible for any help in the form of discounted travel cards. However a person who is unemployed gets £73.10 and who has been for a period of 13 weeks gets a bus pass for duscounted travel.
