Petition · past parliament

For all schools in the UK to teach the British National anthem to students.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

For all children to learn and to respect Queen and Country.
To teach the national anthem to every student in the United Kingdom should be mandatory.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The UK Government and Parliament can't make this compulsory across the UK. The UK Government and Parliament are only responsible for schools in England.

If you'd like this to happen, you could start a new petition asking for that.

If you'd like it to happen in the other nations of the UK, that would be the responsibility of the devolved governments.
