What the petition asks
In the UK, 1.6 million people suffer from an eating disorder. This is an issue that often affects students, especially teenagers from 14-25. We believe that is often not talked about so to raise awareness and break the stigma we want it to be added to the national PSHE curriculum.
6.4% of Adults displayed evidence of having an eating disorder.
Children as young as 6 have been known to have an eating disorder.
Being able to spot the symptoms in a friend or family member is extremely important and with growing numbers of eating disorders in the UK, it is essential to equip the youth with the right knowledge.
