Get rid of the luxury tax on female sanitary products.

What the petition asks
It is unfair that women have to pay a luxury tax for sanitary products when it is a basic health need. This should be recognised by the government as it is hard for many women to afford them.
1 in 10 young women (ages 14-21) cannot afford the buy sanitary products at their current price. The luxury tax on sanitary products is 5%; in a lifetime, a woman may spend up to £1,500 on tampons and pads.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
