Ban the making and receiving of all phone calls whilst driving.

Closed 534 signatures

What the petition asks

Cars kill. Research clearly shows a person is distracted from driving and their reaction times are slowed if on the phone, even if they are using it hands-free. No phone call is worth a distraction that could cause death. Help save lives.
The government has responded to the research intoducing harsher fines and penalties. A driver involved in an accident, if engaged in a phone call, will be prosecuted for driving without due care and attention as this will be considered to have contributed. In the case of a death they can be prosecuted for manslaughter and receive a prison sentence.
