Govt to increase funding for UK space programme, launch technology and spaceport

What the petition asks

With the recent successful launch of the Electron rocket, developed in and launched from New Zealand, the UK is at risk of being left behind in the development of space tech. This petition calls on the Government to expedite and properly fund UK space ambitions including Skylon and a UK spaceport.
-UK Space Agency funding for 2016/17 was £371 million which is 0.05% of £772 billion total govt spending in the same year.
-Small nation of New Zealand successfully developed Electron rocket satellite launcher.
-Spin-off technologies associated with space programmes will benefit UK economy with high-tech jobs.
-21st century race for low-cost launchers, UK at risk of being left behind by other countries.
