Grant an FM licence for a radio station based in Peterborough
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
One of the fastest growing cities in the country is neglected by FM radio-nobody broadcasts from the city-the BBC is based in Cambridge, Heart is too and Connect broadcast from Kettering. Peterborough is only given lip service by these stations and deserves it's own service for Greater Peterborough.
The BBC used to have a Peterborough breakfast show, Heart used to be Peterborough based and Connect (formerly Lite FM) also broadcast from the city and focused on it. As the city has grown, the FM radio service has diminished, which in such a thriving, multi-cultural city, cannot be right.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This is a decision for Ofcom, not the UK Government and Parliament.
