Legalise Recreational Cannabis across the United Kingdom

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

The prohibition of Cannabis has been continued for too long, once a domestic crop with 100s of uses; now a Class B drug, which doesn't kill unlike tobacco and alcohol! The continued extensive research flooding out from the USA, of which 30 states have legalised Cannabis in some form calls for change
480,000 deaths a year - Tobacco - USA - https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/index.htm

8,758 deaths a year UK - Alcohol - https://www.alcoholconcern.org.uk/alcohol-statistics

Cannabis - 0 - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/how-much-marijuana-take-to-kill-you-fatal-weed-a8043856.html

The real gateway drugs are tobacco and alcohol, alcohol causes vast public disturbances and creates formidable family feuds. And nicotine is as addictive as cocaine!
