What the petition asks

Economic Migrants suffered gunshot wounds after fierce clashes erupted. Arguments between Eritrean and Afghan migrants at a food distribution point spiralled into violence after an Afghan man fired shots, seriously injuring some African migrants.
The United Nations 1967 Convention defined what a refugee is. 'A person who owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality'. Fleeing France does not qualify for such status.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure whether you'd like to stop anyone from Europe from coming to the UK or you'd like the UK to refuse to accept any refugee entering the UK from another European country.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
