Abolish GCSE English literature

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

We have to learn at least 210 quotes plus context. This is ridiculous!

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure if you'd like GCSE English Literature to be completely abolished as a subject, or if you'd like the exams to be "open book" rather than "closed book", so that people don't have to learn quotations.

If you'd like open book exams, you could sign this petition:

Change the GCSE English Literature exam from closed book to open book.

Otherwise, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
