Make it a criminal offence to protect abusers and cover up abuse!

I'd like the government to approve a bill to make it a criminal offence for someone to protect an abuser by covering up their abuse. Not reporting abuse allows abusers to continue abusing and gives them the confidence to escalate the frequency of attacks and also the severity of violence they use.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. It is already illegal to cover up a crime, so we're not sure what else you'd like to happen.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking for a new law to require everyone to report abuse.
