What the petition asks
E-commerce companies such as Amazon are notorious for their use of excessive amounts of packaging for smaller items. Amazon committed to reducing packaging in 2008 but clearly a strong financial incentive is required as no noticeable improvement has been made in the past decade.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure exactly which companies you'd like this to apply to.
We could accept a petition calling for fines for all companies doing business over the internet in the UK, or for companies over a particular size, if that's what you'd like to happen.
